CHARACTERISTICS OF A CHEATER
  • Secrecy/demand for privacy: Hiding bills, cell phones, emails, telephone conversations and whereabouts, as well as an overall defensiveness about, or anger towards, infringements on privacy.
  • Change in routines: Time spent at home is decreasing. Time spent on the computer is increasing.
  • Time no longer spent honouring commitments: Attention might be diverted away from the real life relationship toward the one on the side-there is a competition for attention.
  • Caught in Lies: Might be telling small lies to cover up the larger picture. Excuses may be poor or elaborately conceived.
  • Change in Personality: Behavior and moods that were once consistent become inconsistent. Constant denials and blame shifting. Communication falters.
  • Loss of interest in sex: Alternatives for sexual satisfaction might have been found. Feeling of guilt might also cause sexual dissatisfaction with real life partner.
  • Lack of interest in marriage: Not interested in keeping commitments to marriage. Lack of excitement about family-oriented activities.
